Last week I went to see Kyary in Toronto! I haven’t honestly followed her music since “Fashion Monster” came out, I was rabidly excited about the idea of her (especially the visuals by Sebastian Matsuda) for about 6 months and then seemed to just drift away from it. Either way the show was loads of fun and a total spectacle!

I wore a super long brown wig with a crown made of hair! 😛 And some sort of weird leopard print lolita-shaped dress. My outfit was sort of pop-culture punk I guess? 😛

We were especially enamoured of the very expressive fanboys near us in the audience. They were all screaming her name and singing along loudly to all of the songs in Japanese. I wanted to give them all hugs, that sort of raw enthusiasm is so charming and rare.

I spent far too long stalking her Pamyurin bunny with nipples mascot trying to pose with it for a photo, but the damned thing got away before I managed to. Pamyruin come back and let me touch you!!! Kills me that they sold out of the plush keychains of the Pamyurin before she reached Toronto (I did buy stickers and a t-shirt, not a single visible nipple on a bunny to be found).

The concert was very energetic! We were amazed by how intense the dancers were, some very fast choreography there.

Kyary’s music may not really be where my interest is right now personally but her message of joy and creativity is really important!
