Recently I stumbled across the art of Osamu Watanabe and absolutely fell in love! Ordinarily the technique of decorating objects this way is only seen on small items- phone cases, compact mirrors, that sort of thing- but Watanabe’s applied the technique to an array of objects of all sizes! From umbrellas to whole bunnies, skulls, and even shoes!

The mix of peculiar with the sweet, or eerie with cute really appeals to me! The traditional motifs transformed into candy coated pieces of art. Now if he could just come and do my entire living room this way, I’d be thrilled. 😉
