As per tradition Friday is for posting whatever cool things I saw/did this week. This was a quiet week of editing photos and preparing for future shoots. But I did see these beautiful sea creatures called “Sea Butterflies” for the first time!
They’re a type of tiny snail which have adapted their feet into two floppy “wings” so they sort of flap and fly along in the current. I first saw them in this imgur clip where they drift and fly in this big glass jar, which prompted yet another google deep dive of weird sea stuff. 😛
They sort of remind me of bats with their wide wings, though far less elegant in motion. Curiously these snails create “webs” of mucous to trap phytoplankton to eat, so the Halloween themes just keep rolling on these. 😛
Have a great weekend!
