I was dying to recreate the fake-tears makeup effect I did for our Tea Party this past weekend and that idea evolved into an entire Cry-Baby themed photoshoot with Gloomth Girl Vanessa Walsh! We’ll have a tutorial on the makeup shortly, but in the meantime here are some highlights from this super colorful shoot!

When I built the set for this shoot my idea was to create a messy girly bedroom. I used lots of my vintage toys and heaped them on a set made of pillows, a quilt, twinkling lights, and various vintage housecoats/nighties. The effect is a dazzling collage of colors and light that really showcases Vanessa’s blue hair and the “Mina” dress she’s wearing.

We had so much fun creating these photos! The striped blue and white tights Vanessa is wearing are from We Love Colors and are available in a sea of color combinations.
