Despite the move towards offering more “inclusive” sizes by alternative brands, lolita remains one of the styles that is still tricky to find consistently in larger sizes. Some of the legacy brands have started offering a few styles in plus sizes, or fully shirred pieces, but even that is quite limited. Indie brands have always been more size inclusive than the big brands, and it’s wonderful to see more and more of them offer custom sizing or plus sizes. Gloomth stopped offering custom sizing in 2018 (alas) but we are working hard to expand our core size range to fit more bodies of all kinds!

Most Gloomth dresses are offered in at least our “5X” (unfortunately naming sizes is a confusing mess and an SEO headache) which fits similarly to a Torrid’s 3X. However our newer designs, like our “Grave” and “Ossuary” styles, have a brand new expanded size chart!!!!! The largest size in those fits a bust of about 58″ and a waist of about 52″, which is the equivalent to a Torrid 4X! Finally!

As we release new designs, like our “Juliet” dress coming later this fall, they’ll all adhere to that new size range. We hope to add more sizes in future (maybe even XSmall, but honestly we haven’t had a lot of requests for that).
