This past weekend was our annual Clown Party with Lovely Lor! We had such an incredible turn out! We can’t thank you enough for your support with our events, it means the world to us that you are excited about what we are building here at Doll Funeral. Truly, this shop is a labor of love and we are so lucky to get to share that with you.
We were informed of some issues after the fact that I felt I needed to address here, just for the record. Apparently some guests were unable to control themselves and were shoving, bullying, and grabbing things from others. I’m sure you can understand how surprised and grossed out we were to hear this news, our community knows better than that! But after reviewing the footage from our security cameras we have seen what the complaints were about, and are pretty disappointed by it. Allowing greed to overtake your manners or respect for others is deplorable. This is not a Black Friday sale at Walmart.
In future we will be making changes to our events of this type in order to protect our community and sellers. Our events have to be safe spaces for anyone attending, and physical violence of any kind is not welcome. Here are some of the policies we will be utilizing in future to keep our scene safe:
-For larger influencer type events with closet sale components we will be doing a silent auction or item purchase limit for guests. It’s truly unfair to come to an event and buy everything you can get your hands on immediately, it ruins it for other guests. This will avoid shoving and greed fueled frenzies.
-Any violence reported to us during an event will result in the perpetrators removed from the party and not allowed to buy anything. Zero tolerance policy.
-We will employ our own security (aside from just door control) to manage the crowds attending.
We are so sorry to anyone who felt unsafe or bullied by other guests at this event. It’s not okay and we will do everything we can to avoid this happening in future.
