If you’ve been on the Gloomth site recently, you’ll see a new section in our shop called “Second Hand”! In it you’ll find items that are also available at our IRL store Doll Funeral in Toronto. We aren’t posting every single item and accessory we have in the shop (there are hundreds) but we will be adding highlights and pieces to the site so our non-local friends can shop the items anywhere in the world!
All prices in our Second Hand section include shipping in North America. We only have one of each item!
Why second hand? Alternative clothing donated to thrift stores is often relegated to the Halloween section or simply disposed of by unfamiliar employees. We’d prefer to keep these items within the alt community where they are appreciated and reduce waste! We also believe a well rounded wardrobe includes items beyond strict brands and styles, allowing you to mix and match and create your own signature aesthetic unlike anyone else’s! Vintage items help you express yourself and create a connection to a past that has always inspired us here at the ‘Cult!
We’ll also be adding the handmade accessories and jewelry also available at Doll Funeral to the site soon. You’ll find vintage items from the 1950s onward, second hand lolita pieces, gothic brands, and lots more. Stay tuned all December as we work on the online component to our consignment section of Doll Funeral.

Gloomth & the Cult of Melancholy 
Great initiative with the Second Hand section on Gloomth’s site! It’s wonderful to see efforts being made to keep alt clothing within the community and reduce waste. I’m curious to know, how do you decide which items are highlighted and added to the site for non-local shoppers?
Thanks! So far it’s mostly been higher end items listed on the site. I don’t really want to ship $10 tops or little accessories, as we include shipping worldwide in our pricing online, so they’d just get too expensive.
You’ve got to watch the incidental expenses, such as shipping, to make sure you survive financially. Perhaps you could have a 2 tiered shipping setup. Bundles over $100 ship free, under there’s a shipping fee.
