New “Sickly” Photoshoot

It’s been a hot minute since I styled and shot a guro/medical themed look for Gloomth! “Guro” is a sub-genre of anime/manga with a focus on gore and mutilation, sometimes with medical or hospital adjacent themes. In subculture fashion it can be seen in “gurololita” (medical themed, often blood splattered lolita outfits) or in nurelolita looks for example. In Gloomth style guro looks include medical themes, sometimes gore, and always unsettling. For this shoot I added my signature extra eyeball to Azura Rose’s makeup look!

We shot outside on a windy cool day, and found some great backdrops to showcase the mint green “Slime Nurse” dress and illustrated “St Gloomth Hospital” leggings.

We paired the dress and leggings with Azura’s platform white boots, a sheer white vintage peignoir, costume shop nurse hat, and a broken heart brooch I made ages ago. We kept her cane in the photos to further the “sickly” theme (and to show that all bodies are worthy of exploring alternative fashion).

Slime green glitter tears crawl down her face, I kept the makeup simple otherwise with lots of sickly purples and violets and lashes.
