Valentines day is my second-favorite holiday for aesthetics. Nothing will rival Halloween’s style but I confess all the flocked red fake velvet, heart shaped candy boxes, and paper lace doilies are right up my alley! It’s all so tacky and retro-feeling. I collect vintage 1930s-60s paper valentines, the sort with charming illustrations and bad puns, and can never resist grabbing several packets of those heart shaped paper doilies this time of year.
Here are 3 coordinates using Valentines Day tackiness as an inspiration and Gloomth pieces as the focal points. 😀
Pale Cupid- Red and white is a perfect Valentine combination! For this outfit we’d pair our “Shalott” nightdress in white with white tights and a white peignoir (or pale pink would also look great). Accent with blood red shoes, jewelry, and lipstick.
Dark Kiss- In this look we’d use our “Sorrow” dress in cranberry red. Paired with black lace tights, bloomers, and black patent shoes all the focus will be on the contrast between the rich red and crisp black. Finish with black hair accessories and beaded jewelry.
Love Sick- Patch your wounded heart in style! We’d use our “Medic” dress worn with it’s matching apron. Pair it with red and white striped tights, wrist cuffs, and an eye patch for a gurololita inspired coordinate.
What are you wearing this Valentines Day?
