Some inspiration for your week! Recently I was introduced to the incredible works of art by Kim Keever. His haunting and strange landscape photos and surreal pastel creations are made in the most unexpected way.
The sets are created as models underwater in a 200 gallon fish tank! Incorporating miniature sculptural elements, swirls of colored paint, and theater lighting tricks to manufacture these incredible other worlds. Familiar but always somehow different or magical.
I get lost in some of his work, drifting into the landscapes and imagining the stories there. All of his work is eerily captivating! Here’s a video on the process of his work and his inspiration:
