This story is everything we like in a tale- it’s ghostly, beautiful, and very romantic! An apartment in Paris was left completely untouched for over 70 years when it’s owner fled just before WWII. The occupant abruptly left behind her lavishly decorated home and it’s contents, and the apartment remained locked up tight and unvisited for decades.
Below the layers of dust that have settled on every surface lies an incredible time capsule depicting daily life at that time. We think her apartment is absolutely perfect, especially with the cobwebs! The elegant clutter, the array of artwork, and the ornate carved wood vanity really caught our eyes.
To really make this story amazing is that a lost painting by Boldini, a famous Parisian artist, was discovered in the apartment! The lady in the painting is the grandmother of Ms. De Florian (the owner of the apartment) and was also the muse of the painter himself. Her grandmother had been a popular actress with many suitors, as told by the ribbon-tied collection of love letters also discovered in the apartment.
