There is a wooded ravine area right across from my apartment building, it’s tucked in between busy city streets and has a stream running through the centre. It’s one of my favourite places in the city because you’re still in the midst of a huge urban centre but in the ravine you can’t hear any traffic or city noise- only birds and squirrels and water. It’s almost like magic how the outside world drops away down there.
I took some photos there this week when on a walk before dusk. Autumn hasn’t begun to show in the leaves or plantlife there yet.

I also encountered a well concealed grey cat on the largest fallen tree I’ve seen in ages.
Do you have a secret escape?
