Pastel, But Make It Creepy

I love blending cute and unsettling elements in my shoots. Filling a set build with pastels and toys and then creating strange images in this harmless environment. Azura Rose modeled my “Amalthea” dress in this part Valentine’s part Easter shoot.

I coordinated the dress with pastels and vintage elements, and a gorgeous ornate bonnet I’ve been saving for a shoot! With smeary bloody makeup and a bright red heart lollipop as a prop this shoot came together pretty well.

Floor sets are a challenge! The model has to contort and position themselves quite unnaturally to get flattering angles when you are shooting from above. Usually I am perched on top of my step ladder leaaaaaaning out over the set and model precariously. I love testing myself with creative shoots and building sets, but some shoots are definitely trickier than others.

You can click any of the photos in this blog to see them larger and in more detail. There’s a ton going on in the set and outfit!

Here’s a tiktok we shot during also!
