Decay & Beauty

I love the intersection of decay and beauty, maybe it’s the “memento mori” element of contrasting a gorgeous dress in a rotting environment, reminding us we too shall rot. Maybe it’s the exploration of forgotten or ignored spaces as a form of art. Of claiming memory of these spaces.

Recently a friend of mine offered us their crumbling shed for a venue! Which honestly couldn’t have been a more eerie and strange setting for a shoot. The ceiling has collapsed in one corner, and the autumn vines and leaves are slowly retaking the space. Yas is wearing our “Demon Court” dress and “Aka Kanashimi” red and white jsk, both can be found on our site or in our IRL store Doll Funeral in Toronto.

Here’s a little behind the scenes video I did on tiktok from this shoot:

A creepy collapsing space, decay contrasting against the prim frills of the dress. Model @kitsunetsuki in our Aka Kanashimi dress!!! #gloomth #altfashion #alt #abandoned #abandonedplaces #lolitafashion #reddress
