Food Court Photoshoot!

I absolutely love semi-abandoned places right now, so sorry for all the liminal/back rooms themes in my shoots lately but the city is full of them and I really love using them as backdrops for photoshoots!

This mostly empty old 1980s food court was a dream of a shoot environment. Beautiful old tiles, fun lighting, and lots of props. Also the best food court sign ever- WE FRIED YOUR ORDER (is that the same as saying “we tried”?). I think I need to make buttons with that slogan on them….

November was a really difficult month for me and I haven’t been doing photoshoots pretty much at all. I went from setting up the new shop/studio to a family emergency, and now I’m slowly limping back to creating art again. It’s important to heal and give yourself space when you aren’t at your best. I’ve also found that sometimes you have a shoot where you click into the energy of the moment and feel like yourself again. I truly think art saves lives and it certainly has saved mine multiple times.

I hope you enjoy these fun abandoned(ish) food court pics I did with Maddyvstheinternet! She’s wearing our “Fondant” dress which you can buy on our site or in person at our shop Doll Funeral, in Toronto.

Whole slew of photos from this shoot are on flickr!
