A cotton dress in a solid color is a great start to many lolita-fashion inspired outfits! Whether you are aspiring to become a “lifestyle” lolita and to blend frills into your daily looks, or new to the style.
Our “Waterlily” dress can be washed at home and has enough beautiful detail to draw eyes however you coordinate it. It’s available in black, white, pale cream, plum, peach pink, cranberry red, grey, and unbleached cotton! We offer this dress in standard sizes and custom made.
For all of the outfit ideas we’re listing today we are using the black version as a base. We’ve tried to keep the other items used in the outfits as things you may already own or can find easily. 🙂
1. Fancy Gothic Coordinate- Ideal for an evening event, when you need to stand out! Wear the “Waterlily” jumperskirt over a frilly black lace blouse with a high collar and long sleeves. Wear your largest petticoat underneath for maximum fluffiness! Black lace tights and shiny black tea-party style shoes with heels. Decorate your favourite wig or own hair with sparkling black clips and finish with a black pillbox hat and veil. Long rosary style necklaces and coordinating black beaded bracelets would be a lovely detail to this look!
2. Casual Daytime Look- Want to be frilly but don’t have anywhere special to go? This toned down style is ideal for a day of errand running or window shopping! We’re using classic colors to keep this look fresh and charming. Pair our “Waterlily”dress with a cropped cardigan in pale grey. A simple cotton head bow or two small bow clips for your hair (perhaps braided or thrown into two “ondango” buns). Flat tea-party shoes or brogues in black or brown, with otk socks in a soft cream or white give this look a touch of innocence. A more a-line and less cupcake shaped petticoat would suit this style beautifully. Finish with coordinating ruffled wrist cuffs in cotton or lace.
3. Punky Style- Punk lolita is often considered a trickier style to master, so here’s an easy recipe to use our “Waterlily” dress to achieve this look! Wear our “Waterlily” jsk over a white blouse with short sleeves. Fills your wrists with studded bracelets and little fishnet gloves. A cluster of vintage buttons or badges would look great on the front of the dress. Grab a fluffy petticoat for underneath! Put your hair (or wig) into two twin-tails and add a matching black head bow with safety pins clipped to it for detail. Finish with black otk socks and platform dolly style shoes.
4. Ero Inspired Look– Ideal for a nocturnal outing, whether you want to seduce on the dance floor or just make a certain heart beat faster this Ero-lolita inspired look using our “Waterlily” dress is a show stopper. Wear our “Waterlily” dress without a blouse (and with your favorite petticoat) with it’s corset back and detachable halter strap it suits this style really well. Coordinate it with a choker, lace gloves, and lace-cuffed black thigh highs! Add black rose hair clips to your preferred hair style and finish with platform lolita heels.
5. Spooky and Cute Style- We love spooky cute around here! Pair our black “Waterlily” dress with a short sleeved blouse in lavender purple (with a big fluffy petticoat underneath). Coordinate with patterned otk socks with touches of lavender and black platform maryjane shoes. Accessorize your hair with lavender colored bat-shaped hair clips and bows! Keep the jewelry within the theme of cute and spooky and lavender- think eyeballs and bats and bows!
There! Five easy ways to dress up (or down) using one solid colored dress- all suiting the lolita aesthetic. I hope we’ve inspired you to get more out of your more “simple” wardrobe pieces and to explore different styles of loli’! 🙂
