Did you know that “Paris Green” is not only a luscious color but also a deadly poison? Copper acetoarsenite (colloquially known as Paris Green), is a very toxic emerald green crystalline powder.

At one time this pigment/powder was used for killing rats in the Paris sewers, as well as insects on farm crops, it was also implemented as an artist’s pigment (despite it’s toxicity).
